5/20/23 second week blog

What's up blog,     Second week down and I've learned so much more. I have done almost all of the maneuvers that pilots learn in flight school. This has been so much fun. What I was really excited about was completing one of my biggest goals which has been taking off. It was kinda scary but also very fun. I unfortunately was not able to land because of wind conditions but hopefully the next two days I can get to landing the plane! These two weeks have been great. I though that I had learned a lot the first week. But I learned even more the second and has truly been great and very beneficial for myself and along with my senior project partners Henry and Jack. I hope that the last two days next week go well!

5/13/23 first week blog

What's up blog,     The first week is done and it has been great. I've learned so much in such a short time frame. Through studying and flying I've truly learned a lot. I have learned many maneuvers, how to climb, descend, and turn left and right. It has been so cool. My instructor still has been in more control of the plane than myself which is a bummer but I am still learning. I know that next week I will unlock more things to do in the aircraft. I am hoping for a great week next week full of many things. Mostly landing and taking off which would be so cool. This week was great and I am looking forward to the next.

day #12 5/23/23

What's up blog,     The last day of senior project is here and it has been a great time. Unfortunately, I could not be able to fly today because my instructor is busy today. Although today I have been studying and working on my 3-page reflection. I studied for an hour today just reviewing radio calls to keep them fresh. I do plan on returning to flying at some point. So I do need to keep them in my brain as a refresher. It has been a very fun 2 weeks and will definitely remember it for a long time.  studied 1 hour Total hours 72

day #11 5/22/23

What's up Blog,     Today was another great day of flying. I did two takeoffs today and almost landed the plane today. I also was able to fly through the traffic pattern which was very cool. A person needs to be very attentive when flying through the pattern due to other aircraft in the area taking off and landing. I am disappointed that I could not land the plane today by myself. It is the most difficult part of flying and it just will take more time. through studying and going into flight school past senior project it will all come together.  Hours at Concord Airport 2: (11-1)  Hours studied 4: (8-10) (5-7) Total hours 71

Week #2 reflection 5/20/23

Week two was a great week. I reached many goals that I had been striving to complete. I completed many new things such as better control of the aircraft, new maneuvers, and taking off by myself which I was really looking forward to doing. After every flight I talk with Henry and Jack about their experiences threw their flying and we all learn from each other which I think is very important for each others personal growth. These next two days are going to a great time of flying. I hope that weather is good so I can learn more. I am mostly looking forward to landing. This has posed to me as a must need to learn. It is the most critical part of flying. Takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory. I feel that if I can land the plane by myself this senior project will be a today success. I’ve learned so much but I feel that this is the last thing that is needed for me in this adventure. The daily blogs that I do every night help me a lot with learning how to fly planes. I can truly re

day #10 5/19/23

What's up blog,     Today was a great way to end the second week of Senior Project. I could not take off today due to a bad crosswind which would make it very difficult for me. We took off and my instructor gave me a visor to wear where I can only see within the cockpit. This simulates being inside clouds where you cannot see anything. We did simple maneuvers left, right, climbs, and descends. This was very weird being that I cannot see outside of the plane. We then did quick emergency maneuvers for when a plane would be coming head-on toward us. In this situation, we would slow down and push down on the yolk to turn right. This maneuver gave a weird feeling to my stomach because it was so harsh. Today was a good day and I am looking forward to next week so I can possibly land the plane! Hours at Concord Airport 2: (1-3) Hours studied 5: (9-12)(4-6) 65 hours total

Day #9 5/18/23

What's up blog!     Today was another successful day of flying. Today I finally was able to take off by myself with just my instructor's closed eye. This was very exciting and also a little scary doing this by myself. But it was actually kinda simple. Once we reach around 55 knots I pulled up on the steering yolk and it took off. Way easier than I thought. Then we just did a fun fly over took Lake Sunapee where I live. I saw my house which was very cool. It was a good day of fun sightseeing and I had a great time. I am still learning on the radio calls which I stumble over a lot. I try my best to focus most of my studying time on working on the radio calls. Also working on what I do in different situations. Hopefully weather is in our favor so I can try landing the plane which is my next goal.  Hours at Concord Airport 2: (1-3) Hours studied 6 (8-10) (4-6) Tonight (8-10) 58 total hours
